There are so many ways to show up.
They are individual to each person's spirit and vibe.
HERE ARE two ways to show up:
Words of wisdom from Mariah Carey in her song "Obsessed"
"I am the press conference, you're the conversation."
"You are grasping for air and I am ventilation!"
"I can see through you, like you are bathing in windex."
Why are people so focused on you and challenging who you are, how you dress, how you parent, how you do business, what you believe, or how you live your life?
People, places + things are going to hate on you, judge you, and rain on your parade, regardless. SHOW UP ANYWAY.
ROCKING YOUR BAD- ASS FULL SELF.
Remember, people are meeting you at their level of perception, belief, and experience.
You keeping doing you, and live extraordinary and drop a verse from Mariah Carey, next time your day is affected by someone or something that ruffles your feathers!
Pick your battles. Not every single tiny one is worth your energy and focus.
My life is full and busy with kids, marriage, business, working, a home, goals, life events, and regular day to day stuff like doctor appointments, car stuff, cooking, laundry, packing lunches, changing diapers, and LIFE LIFE LIFE STUFF.
I don't have time + energy to waste on petty stuff.
Remember that movie from the 80's
And the scene when they're on the train and the gang is scaring the crap out of the babysitter and the three kids that she's watching!!
And he throws a knife in the teenagers foot and says,
"don't fuck with the Lords of hell"
Then, the babysitter takes the blade out of the teenagers foot and shoves it right back in the gangs face and says, "don't fuck with the babysitter"!
So of course these movies and what we all watch have different meanings!
But today- this is what it means for me:
On the outside and on the surface the gang looks rough and tough and has respect from the world.
They have the look. They carry themselves flashy + look + feel that powerful part. And the world sees it and knows it!
Everybody bows down to them.
But...then...Here comes the babysitter.
The minimum wage plain Jane babysitter.
She's not doing anything exciting, except watching some kids.
The world + masses, would never think that is prestigious or a big deal or something to admire her for
But she owns it, she claims it, and she shows up fully + unapologetically and says don't fuck with me!
And in that one moment:
Her life experiences
Her nurturing protective caring loving spirit
and everything that she's been through up to that point---ARRIVES.
She is showing up and saying
HERE.. I. mother- fucking. AM.
I pick this one! I am showing UP.
I'm smart I'm resilient I'm brave I'm capable and I've been through more stuff than you can imagine + I can can hold my own!
If on the surface you ever ever ever say to yourself:
I'm just a mom
I'm just an admin assistant
I'm just a nail tech
I'm just a woman
I'm just this or that
and on the surface, maybe no one really thinks it's that cool or that impressive
1-never use the word "just"
That takes your empowerment away!
2-Let me remind you that the ones that show up the most
That have so much street CRED
that are so smart
that are so brave + resilient
the ones that read the books + have Full life experiences
the ones that listen and have been in the depths
The ones that have been through some shit
the ones that are truly resilient and amazing and their brilliance shines out of their eyes and smile and soul on an every single day basis:
THEY Are the ones that don't have all the flashy, look at me propaganda!!!
They might not drive a fancy car.
They may not show off on social media.
May not win awards.
They may not have degrees.
They may not look impressive or have celebrity prestige to the world.
They may not wear designer clothes or show off.
But let me make it very clear:
THEY ARE the light workers
the brave powerful women making waves!
TIP: stand in your power today
And show up very brightly +
Never dumb yourself down + never think that you're "JUST" and
SAY LOUDLY TODAY:
"don't fuck with the babysitter!"
