4- fruit + veggies : discount section in produce section has bruised or day old stuff: take home cut, chop, rinse & freeze bag for smoothies, purées, desserts
Roast root veggies like turnips, parsnips, celery root
5- sunflower seeds + sesame & pumpkin seeds seeds: cheap healthy nuts. Use tons of ways like dressing, dips, snack mixes and stirfrys
6- avocados: thickens sauces, meals, protein base, & more
7- prunes: they are just dried plums if you get over the word prune! Use as Sweetener in desserts + snacks
8- chicken is worst than burger meat but if you love meat: big tip—-rinse the meat off with water.

9- sweet potatoes: stuff them, hash, fries, pies, purées, roast them, etc
10- canned olives & red peppers & artichokes turn into tapenades, dressings, dips
11- flaxseed meal: it is cheaper than hemp/chia seeds- it is pure vitamins + health use instead eggs + use for desserts + add to anything you eat. They have at the dollar store.
12- peanut butter mixed with an egg= peanut butter cookies! Bake them!

Flatten out a piece of bread with a little water + put filling inside + sauté: it is like a dumpling!

Spending the extra dollar on a healthier food item is worth your health! Ex: if your kid gets sick (let's say too much dairy products + virus going around = horrible throat + ear ache that lingers. Doc visit + you taking off work = $$$. Spend the extra dollar or two cooking healthy with vitamins for yourself + family.)
